Mercedes AMG driving academy at Laguna Seca racetrack
The AMG driving academy is now open at the Laguna Seca racetrack, California.
Participants at the academy get to drive the all new 571bhp Mercedes SLS AMG Gullwing around the Laguna course.
The price to enter this academy is $2,295 and that includes a one-night stay at the InterContinental Hotel in Monterey.
Mercedes Benz USA stated that the event will allow participants “to be among the very first to drive the most technologically advanced AMG ever.” It noted that the SLS AMG is “reserved exclusively for the event on the Laguna Seca Raceway.”
The German automaker said that not only will participants get a chance for an extended test drive of the SLS AMG, they will also be able “to take a fast taxi ride with two experienced racing professionals: DTM driver Susie Stoddart and Bernd Maylander, the driver of the Official F1 Safety Car, will show them what the SLS AMG is really capable of.” It noted that the extension of the academy to the U.S. is in response to the “constantly growing demand for emotional events and driver training.”
The gullwing SLS AMG is equipped with a 6.3-liter V8 linked to a seven-speed automatic transmission.
