Chrysler has made the decision to bring back the Dart for 2013. This revived model will be a compact sedan and which is likely to be presented to the world at the Detroit motor Show on January 9, 2012. Production is due to start in April 2012 and we may see the new Dart replacing the Caliber crossover.

The 2013 Dart will feature the same platform as used for the Alfa Romeo Giulietta and will be powered by a 1.4L turbocharged Fiat MultiAir engine that is good for 168 hp. Chrysler are also planning on two other power units available such as the “Tigershark” 2.0L and the “Tigershark” 2.4L MultiAir four-cylinder.

After looking at the teaser pictures it is obvious that this latest model bares little resemblance to the original Dart from the 60′s and seems to be more closely designed to the Dodge Charger. Being a compact sedan it will be taking on the fight against popular competitors such as the Ford Focus and Toyota Corolla.
