Mercedes celebrates 125th years by giving each worker a bonus
In celebration of the companies 125th anniversary, Mercedes will be giving out 125 million euros, or $170 million to its 260,000 employees around the globe as a bonus. The payout will be based on time of service and only employees that have been working with the company for at least a year will be eligible.
The average payout for each employee will be around $1,370.
Carl Benz, who is credited with creating the world’s first combustion engine-powered vehicle filed his patent on Jan. 29, 1886. Although his name was removed from the company’s name when it merged with Chrysler, it remains in the Mercedes-Benz brand.
