Mercedes wins awards for best luxury saloon and sports car

Readers of the German magazine “Auto Zeitung” have voted the new Mercedes Benz E-Class the best saloon in the luxury class and the new Mercedes Benz SLS AMG Gullwing won first place for the best sports car.

Mercedes was also presented with the “Auto Trophy”.

The award ceremony took place in Berlin and this marked the 22nd year for the Auto Zeitung best car vote. Over 104 thousand readers voted on the best car of 2009 and Mercedes were victorious over nineteen other competitors.

The Mercedes Benz SLS AMG also won the golden steering wheel award this year for best sports car.
