MINI Cooper challenges Porsche 911 to a race
Mini USA CEO Jim McDowell has officially challenged Porsche to participate in a race at Road Atlanta race track on June the 22nd.
There has been no confirmation yet from Porsche if they will turn up but if they do it will be a Mini Cooper S vs a Porsche 911 Carrera s.
The Porsche 911 is a much more powerful car boasting 385hp while the Mini can only muster 172 horses but then the Mini does have the advantage of lighter weight and excellent maneuverability.
Unfortunately the event will be closed to the public, but expect live reporting from the event from selected journalists.
MINI have also launched a Facebook page which you can access by clicking this link, (MINI VS PORSCHE)

clearly if it’s on a straightaway it’s all over. however, if they keep it on the tight turns and it’s a short race then say hey willie it’s got to be mini.
Go MINI!!!!!!!!!
Cleraly Porsche weren’t convinced they’d win – they turned down Mini’s challenge. Obviously decided they’d got too much to lose to risk it. Ha ha, cowards!
