New Ferrari 458 Italia supercar

Introducing the all new Ferrari 458 Italia supercar.

The 458 Italia’s chassis is made from aluminum to keep the weight to a minimum and it weighs in at 3,042 pounds.

This mid engined supercar comes with a 4.5 litre V8 and produces 562bhp with 9000rpm, making this the highest revving Ferrari road car ever.

The 458 Italia comes with a new direct injection system making this a seriously fast car. Ferrari claims it can hit 62mph ( km/h ) in under 3.4sec and has a top speed of “over 200mph ( 325km/h )”. The 458 has lapped the Fiorano test track in 1m 25s, a fraction off the time of the Enzo hypercar.

Ferrari has worked hard to reduce internal friction and aerodynamic drag on the 458 Italia and as a result it has improved CO2 emissions and fuel consumption. This new Ferrari can do around 17.1mpg.

Production for the Ferrari 458 Italia will start in 2010 and prices will be around £150,000 ( $250,000 ).
