Ruf Cayenne Stormster goes green
Porsche tuners, RUF, have customized a Cayenne to produce an all electric model, known as the Stormster.
The zero-emissions 4×4 is the company’s second electric model, following their battery powered Porsche 911 concept car called ‘Greenster’ which was displayed at the Geneva Motor Show in 2009.
Both cars share a 362bhp electric motor, but where the lightweight Greenster can reach 62mph in 5 seconds, the Stormster’s huge 2,670kg kerb-weight means the sprint time is double that.
The top speed of the Cayenne is only 93mph (150km/h) but it wasn’t designed for speed, it was built to be green and it certainly achieves that. It can be fully charged within one hour and can travel 125 miles on a full charge.
The Stormster was unveiled at the European Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen and will be on show there until December 18th.
