Volkswagens new pick up the Amarok
Volkswagen has recently released images of their new pick-up, the Volkswagen Amarok.
This 4 door double cab, pick up will be launched in 2010 and in 2011 a single cab version will be made available too.
The Amarok will feature all the latest technology and quality that you come to expect from a VW.
The Volkswagen Amarok will be produced in their factory from Buenos Aires, Argentina and the first models are expected to be available from September 2010.
The Amarok has a payload capacity of 1.15 tonnes and a maximum towing limit of 2.8 tonnes.
Driving this pick up is a 2.0 Litre TDI engine that will be available with 163bhp or 122bhp.
The Volkswagen Amarok will be used in the upcoming annual Dakar Rally in South America as the official support truck for the entire rally.
Just as they did last January, factory-backed teams will be competing in the 5.600 mile race through Argentina and Chile. However, this time, those outfits will be fielding four race Touaregs rather than two.
Amaroks will travel the same route as the competitors carrying media, checking out route conditions, and carrying VW crews and race organizers.
